What investment unlocks
From annual-report spreadsheet to ASCE-wide outreach intelligence.
The demonstration already proves the user experience: a single map can communicate reach, activity, attendance, and local stories. Additional investment would turn it into a governed platform spanning YMGs, Sections, Branches, Student Chapters, Regions, and year-over-year performance.
1. Event-level geocodingPlace each actual event at its school, university, venue, or city rather than only the reporting group.
2. Full ASCE entity modelConnect YMGs, Branches, Sections, Regions, Student Chapters, and partner organizations without double counting.
3. Annual reporting pipelineStandardize collection, clean submissions automatically, and compare activity over time.
4. Hosted leadership portalDeploy to an ASCE-controlled subdomain with authentication, exports, and presentation views.
Prototype data readiness
✓72 nonblank YMG/YMF records are loaded from the 2025 annual-report CSV.
✓Region, Section, Branch, event counts, attendance, and narrative fields are preserved.
✓Every reporting group has an initial map location for the stakeholder demonstration.
✓The architecture is ready to accept Region 10 and additional ASCE entity categories.
Presentation note: event totals and attendance are self-reported. Group locations are approximate home-city points for this prototype. Exact event coordinates and official Canadian province polygons belong in the production data phase.
